La Tour Eiffel πŸ’—

Who doesn't love Paris and the Eiffel tower? Well, I certainly do and since I'm taking up studying French again it felt more than appropriate to make some Eiffel tower cookies dans le Coin de Christine...

Dresses πŸ‘—

These dresses do make me smile! The icing consistency for the outline and the flooding was just perfect, sometimes you get that perfect mix that you just know will dry quickly and evenly. These are part of a birthday cookie set, see earlier post, and these have to be my favourite! They are delicate and pretty and lots of fun to make!

Happy Birthday πŸ’

A friend of mine celebrated her 50th birthday yesterday, so obviously cookies suiting the theme were needed. It was so much fun making these! My absolute favourites have to be the dresses, will post a separate post about them shortly. Just love how the cookies turned out! Very happy with this set, makes me smile!

Hey, who said you were 50 years old?

Lingerie Cookies πŸ’–

Gotta love lingerie cookies, they make me smile every time I make them! These were part of a birthday cookie set and even if these aren't exactly birthday themed, they were very much appreciated... Biting into a bra or panties can't help but get even the most serious person to smirk just a little...

Spider Web Cookie Trial

I was looking for cookie ideas online, and I found this wonderful post on Sweetopia and just had to try and make some. I am so pleased with the result and I will surely be making more of these and adding spiders and such. I followed the 10-second rule to get the best consistency for the icing for decorating the cookies. I like to outline first and then immediately flood the cookies without leaving a visible outline, and just using different tips it is easy to achieve when the icing is of this consistency.

One thing I was reminded of whilst making these cookies is to always use disposable bags, because washing the piping bag with black icing in it was all kinds of messy... ; ) This is a fun way to make a dramatic looking cookie and I just love the technique. You just have to be quick and concentrate on one cookie at a time so the icing doesn't dry either too early on the cookie before the second colour is added, or in the piping nozzle.

Seeing a spider isn't a problem.
It becomes a problem when it disappears.

Decorated Pumpkin Cookies πŸŽƒ

Whilst dusting off my Halloween cookie decorating skills, I decided to make some pumpkin cookies to see what needs to be perfected before Halloween. These are fun to make and even if the picture doesn't show it very well the orange colour turned out very nicely. A tad dark maybe, because the orange lines I drew on the cookies are barely visible... I might make them a bit differently next time, but they always make me smile and according to my kids the ones I've done before didn't look frightening enough so had to change their "look" ;D

Xmas Cookie Trial πŸŽ„

These are the result of some Xmas cookie trials. Thankfully there are still 113 days left 'til Xmas so plenty of time to hone the skill... And the ghost, well let's just say they are Xmas ghosts ;D It is fun to try different decorating techniques, but my absolute favourite way to decorate cookies is beyond a doubt using royal icing and then drawing them. Preferably in a black and white colour scheme, but especially around Halloween and Xmas time life gets much more colourful... Even if I will admit our house was very black, white and gold coloured last Xmas.

Just be yourself.
Let people see the real, imperfect, flawed, quirky, weird,
beautiful, magical person that you are.

Cookies Galore ♥

This is my favourite cookie colour scheme by far. But since Halloween and Xmas are on their way some colour is definetly needed so will be back with more colours
